1) First and always, keep barrel pointed in a safe direction with fingers
away from the trigger. Remove magazine and open action to visibly
inspect chamber and be sure firearm is not loaded.

2) Rest pistol on butt (grip) with barrel pointing up on a table or
other hard surface. ( A towel folded will cushion and protect finish)

3) Push the Slide down and back about 1/4 inch or so. Press down
on the recoil spring plug while rotating the barrel bushing clockwise
for about 1/4 turn until recoil spring plug and recoil spring extend out. apart1.gif (12797 bytes)     apart2.gif (11269 bytes)
Keep pressure on recoil spring plug until you feel the spring tension
let off and plug with spring extend out slide from under barrel.
Rotate plug counter clockwise and remove from spring.

4) Pull hammer back to the cocked position.

5) Pull back slide until the slide stop lug is lined up with disassembly notch. apart3.gif (12778 bytes)     apart3a.gif (11033 bytes)
Then push round end of slide stop on right side of receiver inward until you
grip it and pull completely out left side of receiver.

6) Push slide forward toward barrel end until it is free and off the receiver.

7) Hold slide upside down and lift recoil spring and guide end until free then
pull rearward until removed from slide.

8) Turn barrel bushing counter clockwise and then push barrel and bushing
forward toward muzzle until bushing clears slide and can be slipped off barrel.

9) Push barrel link forward and remove barrel through the front of slide.

To reassemble, reverse disassembly instructions. Use special care assembling
the recoil spring and guide. Make sure the closed end of recoil spring is
seated in the base of the guide. Then place spring and guide assembly into slide.
When replacing slide onto receiver, be sure barrel link is forward and keep it
forward by tipping receiver forward. Run slide onto receiver until barrel link hole
is exposed through slide stop hole and insert slide stop through the receiver
and the hole in barrel link. Align the disassembly notch and snap slide stop into place
by pressing up and in against the slide stop detent. Test assembly by cycling action
and  testing operating functions.

No further disassembly is recommended unless  your experienced on procedures.
