During World War II, the Willys jeep was selected for U.S. military use.
Because of the huge numbers needed during W.W. II, Ford also started making the
military jeep.
They quickly gained favor as a fast, maneuverable and rugged all purpose
vehicle.
It would go almost anywhere and greatly helped the U.S. Forces win the war.
The Jeep was used by the U.S. Armed Forces until 1985 when the Humvee replaced
it.
The Willys and the more modern Jeep was and still is a favorite in the
civilian vehicle market.
